Ice Skating

Ice Skating is the act of moving on ice by using ice skates. Ice skates can be done for exercise, traveling, leisure, and various other sports. It is performed on specially prepared ice surfaces e.g arenas, tracks, and parks, both indoors and outdoors, on frozen water by naturally occurring e.g lakes, rivers, and ponds

Ice Skating

A study by Federico Formenti of the University of Oxford suggests that in the earliest ice skating, Originally, skates were sharpened and flattened bone strapped. Skaters did not actually skate on the ice but rather glided on top of it. True skating emerged when a steel blade with sharpened edges was used.
